A positive morning message can be a kind sentence, an encouraging thought or a joke. It doesn’t need to tell you how to live the whole day. Sometimes a line that makes you smile is the right place to begin.
Here are six examples from LOOKUP’s accepted opening collection. Some are direct compliments, some look ahead, and some are simply funny. They show the range of the daily opening; they aren’t personal predictions or promises about how you will feel.
A kind word
These are deliberately simple. You can read a kind sentence without turning it into an assignment, repeating it aloud or finding a reason to have earned it.
A little hope
A future memory or an undiscovered song is a small, concrete thing to look forward to. The words leave room for a day that you haven’t lived yet.
A little laugh
A joke doesn’t have to carry a lesson. If it makes you laugh before you open the next notification, it has done something useful with a few words.
Make a small space for the message
You might read one before your email, while the kettle warms up or after you arrive at work. Take a moment to finish it. If you want to do something next, send a kind message to someone you know or record a detail you would like to remember.
You can also leave it there and carry on with your day. A positive message doesn’t require a response or a particular mood.
How LOOKUP’s daily opening works
LOOKUP selects a greeting from its moderated collection, with variety and repeat avoidance. The first daily opening stays available until it appears. Golden embers start around eight seconds, the words remain intact for fifteen seconds, and the default dissolve ends at twenty-five seconds. The app also has a longer reading option.
After the opening, you can return to a private journal, your photo album and one sourced good-news story. Try the opening demonstration, or use a gratitude prompt if you would like a place to write.
